Getting started

Can I try it before paying?

Yes. Every subject has free sample questions, and they need no account and no card — open the subject page and start. The sample is drawn from the same bank as the paid practice, so what you see is what you would be buying. Working through free questions never affects your refund eligibility if you do buy.

What do I get when I buy a subject?

Six months of access to that subject's full practice: mock exams in the format of the real thing, drawn fresh each attempt from a much larger pool, with a worked explanation on every question and a TEKS breakdown of your results. Questions added to the subject during your six months are included at no extra cost. Access covers the one subject you bought, on any device you sign in from.

Taking a practice exam

I closed the tab in the middle of a mock exam. Can I continue?

Yes. Come back to the same subject and the attempt you left open is restored, with the same questions in the same order — nothing has to be started over. One thing to know: the score and the review screen are produced only when you reach the end of an attempt, so an exam left unfinished will not show results until it is completed.

Am I seeing questions I have already answered?

About repeat questions

Each subject has its own question bank. Every attempt serves questions you have not answered yet before ones you have, so repeat attempts stay fresh for a long time. The bank is not infinite — if you practice a subject heavily you will begin to see questions you have answered before, and your history is kept, so returning to one you previously missed is part of the preparation. We write and add new questions to these subjects on an ongoing basis, and anything added during your access period is included at no extra cost.

Are the mock exams timed?

A full mock shows a timer set to the length of the real exam, so that practising under time is possible. It is there to pace you, not to lock you out: if you step away, the attempt is kept and restored when you come back, with the same questions in the same order. Only reaching the end of an attempt produces the score and the review screen.

I think a question or its answer is wrong. How do I report it?

Please tell us — use the exam feedback form on your results screen, or send a message from anywhere on the site. Say which subject and roughly which question, and what you worked out instead. We re-solve reported items from the question alone, and where we are wrong we correct the item and the explanation together.

Your results

Where do I see my scores?

Under My Results, once you are signed in. Each completed attempt is listed with its score and the date, and opening one shows the TEKS breakdown — which parts of the syllabus the marks came from and which need another pass. Attempts you did not finish do not produce a score, so they will not appear there.

Can I go back over the questions I got wrong?

Yes, and that is where most of the value is. Open a completed attempt from My Results and it lists every question with your answer beside the correct one and a worked explanation — the ones you missed are shown first, so revision starts where it matters. Your answer history is kept, so a question you got wrong months ago is still there to check.

Your account and signing in

I signed up with Google. How do I create a password my child can use?

Your Texas CBE password is a separate thing from your Google password, and creating one does not touch your Google account. Open the password reset page, enter the same email address you used for the Google sign-in, then open the link we email you and choose a password. Your child can then sign in with that email address and the new password. Your own “Sign in with Google” keeps working exactly as before — the account simply has two ways in from that point on.

Password reset
I forgot my password, or the reset email never arrived.

Use the password reset page with the email address on the account. The message arrives within about a minute. If it is not in your inbox, check Spam or Junk — we send from a gmail.com address with links to texascbe.com, and Yahoo and AOL in particular file that combination in Junk. If nothing has arrived after a few minutes, write to [email protected] and we will get you back in.

Can my child have their own separate account?

Yes. A separate account needs a different email address, since the address is what identifies an account. Access to a subject belongs to the account that bought it, so please do not buy it a second time — send us a message with both email addresses and we will move the access across to your child’s account for you.

How do I change my name or my grade level?

Both are on My Profile once you are signed in — edit them there and save. Changing your grade level does not affect anything you have already bought or any results you have already recorded; it only informs what we suggest to you.

How do I change the email address on my account?

Send us a message and we will change it for you — the email address is what identifies the account, so it is not something the profile page edits on its own. Tell us the address you use now and the one you want, and please write from an address we can recognise or from inside your account.

How do I delete my account?

There is a Delete account section at the bottom of My Profile. It removes your account and your practice history for good, and it cannot be undone — if you have unused access you paid for, that goes with it, so please read the refund answer first or ask us before deleting.

Payment and refunds

I paid, but the subject is not open when I sign in.

Almost always this is a second account: the purchase sits on the account that was signed in at checkout, and if that was a Google sign-in, it belongs to that Google email address. Check My Purchases while signed in — if the subject is listed there, it is active on that account. If the list is empty, send us a message with the email address on the receipt and we will connect the purchase to the account you are using.

What is your refund policy?

A full refund within 7 days of purchase if you have not accessed any paid content. Paid content counts as accessed the moment you start a paid mock exam, answer any of its questions, or view your score or TEKS breakdown — after any of those, the purchase is non-refundable. Free sample questions never affect this. The full policy is in our Terms of Service, and if something has gone wrong we would much rather hear it from you than from your bank.

Terms of Service
Is this a subscription? Will I be charged again?

No. Each subject is a single payment for six months of access. Nothing renews on its own, there is no subscription to cancel, and we do not keep your card on file — payment is handled by Stripe. When the six months end, access simply stops unless you choose to buy again.

Where do I find my receipt?

My Purchases lists everything on your account with the date and how long the access runs, and Stripe emails a receipt to the address used at checkout when the payment goes through. If neither shows the purchase you are looking for, it is usually on a second account — send us the address on the card receipt and we will find it.

About this service

Is this the official Credit by Examination test?

No. We are an independent practice platform and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any school district, the Texas Education Agency, or any university testing service. Our exams are independently authored and modeled after the format and TEKS coverage of the official Credit by Examination, so that practice here prepares you for the real thing — but the exam that earns credit is the one your district or an approved provider administers.
